Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Yard Manager to oversee the daily material handling, inventory allocation, and yard organization for our projects. This role is vital in supporting project execution by ensuring materials are accurately pulled, tracked, and allocated, and that the yard operates in a clean, safe, and efficient manner. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, detail oriented and like "thinking outside the box"

Responsibilities:

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Load shipments- poles, dugouts, etc
  • Unload deliveries
  • Keep yard organized
  • Packaging products for shipments
  • Learn software for inventory, deliveries and finished products (Tekla)
  • Receive internal picking tickets for materials required on sold jobs.
  • Pull available materials from yard or shop inventory, noting quantity changes or substitutions.
  • Update material lists with actual pulled quantities and communicate changes to the Project Manager to facilitate additional purchasing.
  • Receive incoming materials from outside vendors; verify deliveries against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Allocate received materials to appropriate job orders or stock inventory.
  • Process and reallocate leftover materials returned from completed jobs back into stock for future use.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and shop environment to support efficient operations and minimize hazards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock organization and control.
  • Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment as required.
  • Work closely with project managers, purchasing, and other departments to ensure smooth material flow and timely project support.

Qualifications:

  • US work authorization is required.
    • High School or equivalent is preferred.
    • Driver’s License and reliable transportation
    • Exhibit regular and prompt attendance.
    • Demonstrate ability to work independently while also able to work in a team setting.
    • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and all power tools.
    • Ability to operate heavy equipment, i.e., skid loader, telescoping boom lift, etc.
    • Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, etc.), lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Salary: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
